Error establishing a database connection

    Please help. My site was working fine. I added a widget, and updated a page. Everything seemed to be working. When i tried to view my site a few minutes later i received this error. Error establishing a database connection. I searched the forums but most people with this problem seem to have been transferring something. I was not transferring anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Check your config.php file to see if you have the correct DB name, BB username, DB password and DB hostname.

    I just refreshed it for the millionth time and it suddenly works again. Is it possible that it was not my user error? Where can i locate my DB name and password?

    If it’s intermittent like that it’s not the settings in your wp-config.php file. They would have to be correct for you to get anywhere in the first place.

    The most likely problem in this case is that the MySQL server that your databaase is running off is either over-worked, or has a flakey connection with your web server. Most times the database server and the web server are the same machine, so it’s most likely that the database server is over-worked. This is osmething that you need to talk (complain) to your hosting company about.
