Error establishing a database connection

    I am a newbie to wordpress and have downloaded WAMP server 2.2. However, I keep getting the error message “Error establishing a database connection” when try to log into WAMP. I am told by my partner that I need to get this to work. I have tried various solutions I have read about, but I think I need some “spoon-feeding”…Can anyone help this WordPress “newbie”???

    Just a simple confusion:
    “Error establishing a database connection” when try to log into WAMP<<

    Error message appears when you try to log into WAMP or WordPress?

    If yr getting error message when try logging into WordPress (“Error establishing a database connection”) you must have realized that it may be because of some plugin when you tried to activate it.

    If yes;

    Directly delete plugin folder from:
    wamp\www\wp-content\plugins\

    The posters question was about the infamous “Error establishing a Database connection” . Did you create a wordpress database? Did you create a wp-config.php file? Or alternately after creating the wordpress database did you use the web interface to do the install?
