I’m receiving an error message:

error on line 24 at column 118: EntityRef: expecting ‘;’

Any idea what could be causing this and how to solve it?

Usually means you have some kind of an invalid character.

it seems that you are using some image resizing plugin which adds “resize=200%2C200&ssl=1” to images url which breaks the xml.
for example
https://i2.wp.com/www.zorgethiek.nu/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/informeren.jpg?resize=200%2C200&ssl=1

a possible solution would be to change plugin settings to “xml by dom”
please try it and let me know:
go to wordpress settings > Custom Simple Rss Plugin > Set Defaults tab
on the bottom of page you will see “build output xml with:”
please choose “xml by DOM” and update.
