I seem there is another problem, because navigation or navigationGS is only a name of a function and haven’t affect with the double menu. You changed that already and it seems everything works well with no PHP error.
Have you try out another theme?

Because I can’t see any problem with DMSGuestbook. I’ve checked the website with firebug but I’ve no idea why you theme is inserted the menu twice.
Maybe there is a problem with another plugin (try to deactivate it all temporary).
I suggest to set up a test environment with the same setting, if you can’t change anything on this system.
But actually I’cant help you… sorry.
