• Hey guys,

I just installed this plugin recently, but today I got an error from the same customer 4 times in a row. Below is the error code in full:

PayPal DoExpressCheckoutPayment API call failed:Detailed Error Message: This transaction couldn’t be completed. Please redirect your customer to PayPal.
Short Error Message: This transaction couldn’t be completed.
    Error Code: 10486
    Error Severity Code: Error

I tried to search online for it, and this page on PayPal is what I found. It says here, that the buyer may have a bad funding source, and that I should send the buyer to PayPal’ page, so they can select a different source.

I found another support thread here, which mentioned the same issue. There’s just one question I have for this solution. Whenever a user clicks the PayPal Express button, I don’t want them to be presented with both “Login” and also the creditcard details. I’d like to keep it simple, with just the “PayPal login screen”, whenever they click the button. I’ve seen this drastically improves the conversion rate. Is there any way I can do a solution, where they are presented with extra options IF they get this error code in first try?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi There,

Sorry for delay in response. It seems like you are using Woocommerce and our plugin with Guest checkout enabled, right? if so then please uncheck guest checkout optin, and in our plugin settings make sure that the account optional is unchecked and login screen is set to login rather billing and that would save work the way you are expecting. Still you may see different screens on different devices and that’s purely controlled by PayPal like they may have different checkout process for users in US compared to those in AUS or UK or Germany, so this is really not something we control but PayPal does. Hope that answer’s the question.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
    Thanks!
