  • WordPress 5.0 is the release where the new block editor was introduced. Old content is shown in a “Classic block”, which uses the old editor but in a different way. Apparently there is enough difference that your plugin for ez-quicktags is not working with it.
    You can install the Classic Editor plugin which has options to use it exclusively or to choose which editor to use on each post.
    If you save content in the new editor, you have to manually convert back to the old format, whereas you can convert old content to the new format within the new editor. But the conversion is not very good in 5.0. It has improved to the current 5.2.2.

    This is misinformation!

    There is no ez-quicktags plugin and, since it was never installed, this is false information!

    There should be an authentic answer for this issue…Eventually!
