When I go to my site I get the following error across the top of the home page below the horizonal menu bar:

Deprecated: Function Tribe__Events__Template__Month::calculate_first_cell_date is deprecated since version 6.0.0 with no alternative available. in /hermes/bosnacweb06/bosnacweb06au/b436/nf.demandcreation/public_html/yrrc.ca/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5391

Deprecated: Function Tribe__Events__Template__Month::calculate_final_cell_date is deprecated since version 6.0.0 with no alternative available. in /hermes/bosnacweb06/bosnacweb06au/b436/nf.demandcreation/public_html/yrrc.ca/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5391

Any Idea what would be causing this error.

    Thanks!

Hi @mrusheleau, sorry to hear about this. That’s not good. Before upgrading which version are you using? It would be good if you could upgrade to v5.16 and then v6.0. Other users resolved some of the issues they are having by following the troubleshooting steps in our Knowledgebase. It would be good if you could check and see if that’s also the case for you which fixes the issue.

Moreover, would be good if you could upgrade/downgrade to PHP 8.0. To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

    Thanks fssbob (@fssbob)!

I originally thought it had something to do with the version of PHP I was running, however I couldn’t find a version that resolved the issue. However when I disabled Yoast SEO the issue was resolved.

Hi @mrusheleau , sorry to hear about this. We’re still investigating this issue, in regard to the recent release v6.0.2 having an issue with Yoast SEO. For now, we’d recommend rolling back to the 6.0.1 version of the plugin. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/accessing-older-plugin-versions/#Installing_past_plugin_versions

If you do have other concerns or issues you need help with, please create another ticket, as it helps us track different issues.

Again, thank you for your patience. Hang in there.

Hi @mrusheleau , I’m curious are you using REDIS Cache along with Yoast? I suspect it could also be the issue with object caching.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best,

    Hey @mrusheleau ,

One of our developers just worked up the following message for people encountering the same errors as you:

It appears you are having an issue with Tribe__Events__Template__Month. We deprecated that class before the v2 updates and have removed it entirely in TEC 6.0. We no longer call this class or its methods internally.

–If you are seeing errors related to this class, please make sure:
Your plugins are all up to date
–Reminder: pre-6.0 premium plugins and add-ons are not compatible with TEC 6.0
–Your live site is not set to display debug errors
–You are on PHP 8.0 or lower (as downgrading from PHP 8.1 has corrected the problem with some users)
–You are not calling the class or its functions in any custom code snippets.

Let us know if this info helps!

    Thanks!
    John

Hi everyone, sorry to hear about this. The tribe_is_month function was already deprecated prior to v2 and seemed to be utilized by Yoast → /wordpress-seo/src/generators/schema/third-party/events-calendar-schema.php. You could comment out the function where it is called as per @kidkaos77 as a temporary workaround.

I’d recommend reaching out to the Yoast Team as well if they have any workaround regarding this issue. Also, downgrading to pre-v6.0 is also an option.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi there,

With our latest release of The Events Calendar 6.0.4, we resolved an issue causing error messages regarding Yoast that broke some specific Yoast SEO functionality. Please be sure to review our full Release Notes for more details and update your plugin whenever you get a chance.

As always, we suggest testing updates on a staging site first and having a recent backup, but it should all be smooth sailing. If you implemented any workarounds, you can remove them after updating the plugins.

If you still have issues after updating to the latest releases, please open a new support thread and include any specific details and screenshots if possible.

    Have a great day,
    Gladys
