Getting a 404 error when updating Share Buttons plugin to 6.0. After receiving the error, my website goes into maintenance mode. Please fix.

    Hi @efpeterson,

What is the URL of your website?

Do you have any further information you can provide to help with the investigation?

    Thanks,
    Leland

    Hi there,

When updating the plugin I get the following error: Update Failed: Internal Server Error

It is not a standard error page, but it appears where the plugin is listed on the plugins page.

    Hi there,

Would you be able to provide us with a screenshot of the error and also any additional information you’re seeing from server logs? Could you let us know what version of PHP your server is running?

    PHP version 5.3.24

Hello, I love our plugin, but after updating it it now forces the content and the link buttons to the bottom of the section on the home page. It’s fine for the actual article page, but the ARCHIVE pages force the content and the link buttons to the bottom on the div. They are not wrapping.

Following suit with the above request to another, I share my PHP version: 5.4.45

    Hi @mmeadpond,

Can you try disabling your excerpts in our plugin’s Advance Settings?

Let me know if that works!

    Thanks,

Hi, Leland! Thank you for the quick reply. That worked perfectly. Thank you so much. I will follow suit on the other sites with which I used your fab plugin. 🙂

Okay, Leland, I’m so confused. I just wanted to update the buttons when you said the plugins needed updating. NOW the buttons aren’t showing at all.

To be clear: I want the AddThis Buttons working like before. Now, I’m hooked up with some sort of user site–and it’s telling me my AddThisButtons conflict.

Will you please let me know the easiest way to return to normal? Do I delete everything now? <sigh>. Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention: You sent me a note about adding code to the site to install the tools.

    <!– Go to http://www.addthis.com/dashboard to customize your tools –><script type=”text/javascript” src=”//s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-598e2147165ddfdb”></script>

What is that for? Where do I find the place to put it on WORDPRESS?

Thank you, the learning curve is pretty sharp here for me.
