# error adding new plugin

 * I am using MAMP to develop a new site. when i try searching for plugins i receive
   this error
 *     ```
       An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.
       ```
   
 * this started happening after i deleted a plugin, it was working and returning
   search results without any problems before.
