Support » Plugin: WP Statistics » Error

  • After installing the latest version of the plugin, my site creates the following error-message:

Warning: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in Unknown on line 1 in /home/nabelevi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/vendor/browscap/browscap-php/src/phpbrowscap/Browscap.php on line 769

Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to phpbrowscap\Browscap::resortProperties() must be of the type array, boolean given, called in /home/nabelevi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/vendor/browscap/browscap-php/src/phpbrowscap/Browscap.php on line 809 and defined in /home/nabelevi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/vendor/browscap/browscap-php/src/phpbrowscap/Browscap.php on line 867

removal of the plugin fixed it, but re-installing created the same error.

    I use PHP version: 5.6.18

  • I am having the same error. If I disable the plugin I can access my site, but then it is not logging my statistics. What do I need to do to fix this???

    EDIT:
    Wordpress version: 4.9.1

I am assuming that this is from a recent update. It would be nice if there was a way to back up to a previous version if something like this were to happen.

    Hi Friends,
Could you please download this beta version and
replace it with your current wp-statistics plugin?
    https://github.com/wp-statistics/wp-statistics/archive/master.zip

And let me know about the result
I am waiting for your reply

The new plugin: https://github.com/wp-statistics/wp-statistics/archive/master.zip didn’t resolve my problem.
    Error message:

Warning: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in Unknown on line 1 in /home/nabelevi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics-master/includes/vendor/browscap/browscap-php/src/phpbrowscap/Browscap.php on line 770

Seem like we have the same problem with the same issue

I think the other guys have a slight problem in their posting of this error. After looking at this again, it is not “Warning: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in …”. It is “syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in …”.
Can you tell me what code gets evaluated at line 769 using the parse_ini_string() method? It has something to do with patterns parsed from an ini file, but without understanding more of how your code works, I can’t attempt to figure it out for myself.

For now I had an old copy of 12.0.7 that I had downloaded a long time ago, so I switched to using that. It seems to run without errors, so I am going to continue to use that until you guys get this figured out. Hopefully it’s soon because the original post on this was 4 days ago.

Correction, I am still getting this error. Using the older version though, the page appears to load fine, but the error is seen at the very bottom of the page instead of preventing the whole page from loading as in the newer version.

Could it have anything to do with a possible conflict between this plugin and Jetpack? I run another website (picture-thizz.nl) without Jetpack and I have no problems there…

Henk, I disabled jetpack and still get the error.

I’m not saying that something outside of the plugin is not what’s causing it. I would like to know what ini file that parse_ini_string() method parses on line 769. If I knew that I might be able to figure out a fix.
