# Error establishing a database connection

   > This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   > php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost.
   > This could mean your host’s database server is down.
   >  * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
   >  * Are you sure
   > that you have typed the correct hostname? * Are you sure that the database 
   > server is running?
   > If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host.
   > If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

 * That error occurs usually because you have some value specified incorrectly in
   your wp-config.php file. Please review [Editing wp-config.php](http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php)
 * There is the slight chance your MySQL server is down and for that you’d need 
   to talk with your host.

 * Final question. I’ve fixed the DB connection (had to change from localhost as
   DB server was remote). Now, when I try to run install, I get the follwing message:
 * “It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.”
 * When I run install.php, I get “Page cannot be found”. I have a feeling this is
   the last issue I’ll have to resolve before WP is up and running.
