Support » Fixing WordPress » error 503 server not available and REST API problems

  • I have migrated my website with a new Provider, since then I am having problems.
First of all, the site is slow and often the message “error 503 server not available” appears
Also, there is a problem (404) <! DOCTYPE html> with the API REST . I tried to find a solution, but they all require intervention in the code, but I’m not that good, also because none of the solutions found were explained in a simple way, they were all for expert developers, so even having the code I wouldn’t know where to put it . By deactivating all the plugins, wordpress returns to work well, but obviously the site works badly because you no longer see anything and also all the aesthetics become horrible. Among other things, it worked great before the migration. I also tried to reactivate the plugins one by one in the hope that only one plugin was the problem, but it’s not a specific one. I do not know what to do. Please help me, but with a simple explanation that even a novice can understand. Thank you.

    “error 503 server not available”

Please get in touch with your hosting provider.

We here have no control over your server whatsoever.

Also, there is a problem (404) <! DOCTYPE html> with the API REST

Make sure Rest API is not disabled either by a plugin or some code snippet.

WP core does not disable it by default or arbitrarily.

Check Site Health for more details in Dashboard –> Tools –> Site Health.

    Any issue with loopback?

Hello, yes, there are problems with loopback too. Deactivating all plugins the problem of the REST API and of the loopback persists. But in this case the 503 error vanishes and the site goes fast. On site health it tells me that the site is in good health, strange given how bad it works.

problem of the REST API and of the loopback persists.

Contact your hosting provider and ask them why loopback is not working on your server.
