    Hello,

I’ve made wordpress websites before but for some reason this new one won’t work.

I’ve created a MySQL database, I’ve uploaded the wordpress directory, and now I’m trying to do the quick install process, but when I got to ~/wp-admin/install.php, it goes to ~/wp-admin/setup-config.php then nothing happens (Chromium says http error 500).

I then set all files and directories permissions to 755, but I get the same result.
So I edited the wp-config.php manually but I still get this error.

    Am I missing something?

Enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress

Thanks for your reply. With the debug_log I was able to see that there were errors in a lot of files in the wp-includes directory. After replacing the files one-by-one I just re-uploaded all the directory content from the wordpress archive. I think it’s working now!
