NextGen’s new ownership suggests going back to the earlier version, which I did.

    http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/

I did too and it’s ok.

    Same problem AND no solution

Error 500 is an internal server error, unrelated to what our plugin would directly cause. It could be that your site may need its memory usage increased. To do this, you or your server host tech support would need to increase memory_allowed to something like 128MB in the php.ini file associated with your site. Some other tips for server related settings, check out: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/requirements/

    Hope that helps!
    –Becky

The memory is not involved. By default, my sites have 256MB of memory

    Thanks Becky 😉

This is possibly caused by your theme or an other plugin calling nggShowGallery or a similar function that existed in the old version of ngg but nolonger exists in 2.0.

That would cause a fatal php error and depending on how your sever is configured would spit out a http500 error (at least, that is what mine does)

I still have not found the solution while version 2.0.11 just came out and I still have the same problem.

Does anyone have a concrete and practical solution ?

Roll back to 2.0.11 solved the problem for me, I hope they get it.

Edit: Same problem with 2.0.11 too 🙁 I have disabled the plugin and all is working well, I’ll plan to go back to 1.9.x.

I am having the same issues as well. The site was unusable and stalling out (error 500) – I disabled everything trying to track it down and everything points to the NextGen Gallery plugin (2.0.40 and previous version). When I keep that disabled the site runs fine. When I re-enable it the site dies off.

@creationnation – You would be better served by creating your own topic or possibly submitting a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) with your issue’s specific details.

You may be having a similar issue but we have often seen these issues to actually be unique.
