# Error 404 When Trying to Open wp-admin/install.php

 * I’ve installed quite a few wordpress blogs on mine as well as friend’s and family’s
   sites.
 * But for some reason, this one is giving me problems.
 * I changed all the database info in the wp-config-sample.php file and renamed 
   it wp-config.php. I uploaded all the files to domain.com/blog/. I then pointed
   my browser to domain.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php and I get an error 404. I 
   get an error 404 for any file I try to open in the /blog/ directory.
 * This is the first time I am installing v.2.6. Would it have anything to do with
   that?

 * I had the same problem when I uploaded via FTP, however I just logged onto the
   server’s remote desktop, re-downloaded and reinstalled it however I’m still having
   issues so I may not be the best to take advice from.

 * If you get 404 – then you didn’t upload the files where you think you did.

 * I deleted and created new directories and started over a few times. It’s always
   been bmbfotos.com/blog/

 * Normally, that “blog” directory should be under/in public_html or www or htdocs
   or the domain.org **folder** – and NOT just by itself in the air…

 * In the air, ha ha, that’s funny.
 * AFAIK it is in the main directory of this particular domain. We have the same
   host and mine is in the same spot.

   I can’t get filezilla to show the whole root directory.
 * The more and more I mess with this, I think it has to do with the host.

 * All that directory structure always depends on the software used by the host 
   on their server
    I have seen quite a few of them… but never seen the logs folder
   and a folder created for installing your stuff on the same level. (which doesn’t
   mean it is impossible)
 * And what is that wsb###### folder there?

 * Ha ha! It WAS the host. I did everything right, but it was conflicting with something
   installed by the host.
 * This is resolved. Thanks for the help!
