Support » Plugin: Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster » error 404 when adding new posts, pages or products in version 1.3.2, fine in 1.3

  • Resolved ibertrix

Only in Chrome, not in Firefox, we have found that at the end of the WP dashboard when adding a new post, page or product we get a message like this:

Note: The checked URL returned an error when fetching the assets via AJAX call. This could be because of a firewall that is blocking the AJAX call, a redirect loop or an error in the script that is retrieving the output which could be due to an incompatibility between the plugin and the WordPress setup you are using.

Here is the response from the call:

Status Code Error: 404 * for more information about client and server errors, check this link
Suggestion: Select “WP Remote Post” as a method of retrieving the assets from the “Settings” page. If that doesn’t fix the issue, just use “Manage in Front-end” option which should always work and submit a ticket about your problem.

It must be somehow related to the fact that we have a SSL proxy termination in our server since in other test server we have without it, last version works fine.

The weird thing is that in previous version 1.3.1 works fine in our production server, so we have reverted to that version for the time being since we prefer to use asset clean up in the WP dashboard.

It occurs in PHP 7.0.x, 7.1 or 7.2

By the way, we love your plugin! Thanks for you hard work!

I have sent you the system info by email. Logs donĀ“t show any error.

@craypillionaire, @ibertrix I’ve just updated tag 1.3.2 and everything should fine now. Please re-download the plugin and let me know if you still see the same error. Note that it only happened for draft posts/pages and it would not have affected the functionality of the plugin overall, just the error was annoying and confusing indeed.

Fixed the problem for me. Thanks!

@gabelivan I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials. I have flagged your account temporarily. That just means that your post will need to be approved and @ notifications from you will not work.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

It is never necessary for you to do that.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.
