 * Hi There,
 * i am setting up a new blog, standard wp 4.9.1 installion with no other plugins.
   The default language “Deutsch” is working, but as soon as i switch to egnlisch
   an error 404 will appear.
 * Right now everything is WP Basic.
 * Any ides?

 * Do You have WP .htaccess in root of the site?
    Did You set up permalink structure?

 * Hi VaLeXaR, thanks for replying. The standard .htaccess from wordpress is in 
   WP root dir and no permalink structure is set up.

 * Thank you – it’s working now.
    Would be nice if this where mentioned on the FAQ
   or Install Tab within wordpress 😉

 * I’m experiencing the same issue – I have Spanish set as the default language,
   but when I use the Language Switcher to see the English version, I get a 404 
   error.
 * – There is a WP .htaccess in the root of the site
 * What exactly is meant by “set up permalink structure”?
 * I’m using the default permalink settings from WordPress (it’s set to use Post
   name). Is that incorrect?
