Hi, we just installed this plugin to test, have linked it to Google Business account, and can’t post anything…. getting the Error 400 INVALID_ARGUMENT exception. Please advise.

    Hi @mquiggeorgia,

Are you able to send the diagnostic information at the bottom of the help tab in the plugin settings, and can you also send a screenshot of your post edit page?

    Thanks 🙂

Couldn’t share screenshot, but a thought occurred… could it be a permissions thing with Google My Business?

    Hi @mquiggeorgia,

On the post edit page, do you see your Google My Business profile show up as a selectable option. Please see the below image on what I mean: https://ps.w.org/wp-google-my-business-auto-publish/assets/screenshot-9.jpg?rev=2841343 see how it says “Location selection” and mie shows 3 locations. Do you see your profiles here and are they selected before publishing or clicking the “Share Now” button?

    Thanks,

Hi, yes we can see our website in the list and have it selected as your screenshot. We thought it might be because we were using a dev version of the site and it wasn’t connected properly to GMB, but we get the same error when trying from the live site too.

    Hi @mquiggeorgia,

Can you please check 2 things:

    1. In the plugin settings, in the “Additional Options” tab, do you have “By default don’t share posts on my Google My Business Page” checked? If so, please uncheck this.
    2. In the “Sharing Options” tab, do you have any categories selected for “Don’t Share Select Post Categories to my Google Business page”, if so, please uncheck any relevant categories.
    3. In the plugin settings, in the “Post Now” tab, if you write some simple text content and no image, does the share work? Now try with an image, does that work?
    4. Can you send a link to the featured image of your post? Please make sure images meet the following guidelines: Google My Business has an unusual image requirements and we enforce these requirements in the plugin. If your image does not meet Google’s standards we will still share the post but it will just have no image. You need to make sure that the width AND height of the image is at least 250px AND the file size is greater then 10kb. Please ensure the file type of your image is standard like a jpg or png. If you are absolutely sure your image meets these requirements and it still is not being shared please raise a support request.

well i have the same issue and i think i found te problem.

    Hi @ivotavaresnet,

Thanks for that info, the original poster might find this helpful. In short, not in the free version, but the pro version, AutoSocial (https://northernbeacheswebsites.com.au/autosocial/ see: https://northernbeacheswebsites.com.au/root-nbw/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/autosocial-meta-box.jpg), has the option to select a different image other than the featured image.

    Thanks,

Hi, thanks for the extensive response, got called away to other tasks. We use .webp images extensively so it could be the problem in our case too. Surprising that Google doesn’t accept them.

Ahh thanks for that info. Yes if Google provides support for this in the future, I will surely add support for this. Because things go through their API, they have stricter control on formats.
