The plugin erases the standard featured image on update. If you don’t have an external link then no image shows up at all! This is not a bug, but an over site that should be addressed. Perhaps a checkbox to use external image (default unchecked) so that if you update a page with a regular featured image set is does not interfere with that.
    Anyway, it should be corrected.

Hi! I’m afraid I do not understand the issue you’re describing. When a post has an external featured image set up, that one has precedence over a regular featured image. In other words, if you set both featured images, the external one will be used. If, on the other hand, you only set one of them, the one you set will be used.

Could you please describe what your problem is, step by step? If I can reproduce your bug, I’ll be more than glad to fix it!

Thanks for your quick reply. Here is what I do:
I create a page. I Set the standard feature image the normal way. I publish it.
It works. The feature image is saved. THEN I make some changes but not to the featured image and UPDATE the page and the featured image is gone. The external featured image works. But on any update – it erase the standard feature image. (This only happens when the standard feature image has been set and the page is updated. I.e. If you set the standard feature image as part of the change it will work. But then if you change anything else, leaving the standard image, it will be reset upon update.)

Thanks for the tip! Now it was easier for me to reproduce the bug. I just uploaded a new version of the plugin (1.0.4) that, hopefully, resolves this issue. I’ll mark the topic as resolved. If anything comes up, pelase write us again! And don’t forget to review your opinion on our plugin, if it finally works as expected.

So far so-so good. The standard image now remains no matter what. But if you have BOTH a standard and eternal feature image, after update, no feature image shows up as a thumbnail on the pages they are supposed to be. That is, both images are there on the edit page, but none show up as the thumbnail where it’s supposed to be.
Thanks for the quick work in addressing my issues!

I’m glad to hear! I’ve been trying different settings, and I always see the external featured image when both images are set. Are you using any particular theme?
