 * How can I make it so that these categories are equally spaced in the area that
   they lie in?
 * I want to make them equidistant from each other and have the first and last element
   on the edge of the div. I also want it to scale when the screen width gets smaller.

 * Hi there,
 * It sounds like you need to get a developer involved to help with these design
   changes, and the considerations required to make it responsive too. For that
   we recommend reaching out to a trusted professional via our [Customizations page](https://woocommerce.com/customizations/).

 * As a developer new to web development I’m also looking to approach this problem
   myself but am unsure of where I should begin. Would you happen to know some good
   places to start?

 * Hi [@max604](https://wordpress.org/support/users/max604/)
 * For these types of changes, you might want to look into theme development. A
   good place to start for that is by creating a child theme: [https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/](https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/)
 * For a general guide on how to create themes, I’d recommend to start here:

 * We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved–
   if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
