Support » Plugin: Slick Slider » Equal height for portrait and landscape images in carousel slider

  • Resolved salpilk

My website is currently in maintenance mode so not visible, but I will do my best to describe what I’m trying to do.

I would like an image carousel which contains portrait and landscape images. The full sized images are different heights, but ideally I would like them all to be the same height within the slider. So they would be seen as a continuous strip of images which slide, same height but different widths.

I have tried ticking and unticking the Adaptive height option but this does not affect this.

I could resize images to have the same original size height and have different versions in the media library, but I wondering if it’s possible to avoid doing this.

Any help would be much appreciated,
    Many thanks

    Hi @salpilk,
    sorry for the late reply.
As you might know, this plugin is just a “WordPress wrapper” for the great slick jQuery plugin.

The thing is: Your question is more related to the configuration of the slider than to the WordPress part of the plugin, which is why I can’t provide any support for it.

Nevertheless I want to point you in the right direction. The setting you are looking for is called variableWidth, not adaptiveHeight. Take a look at this example, which corresponds to your description:

For the reasons mentioned above I set this thread to resolved but feel free to reply if you have any more question or ask on Stack Overflow using the slick-slider tag.
