Episode Image in RSS Feed

    Hi,

    My podcast has a squared image as a cover image, which I’d like to use as the image showing on Spotify & other platforms for all episodes. However, the image showing is the featured image of each post containing the podcast file.

    For instance, for this episode I’d like the image used by the SSP player to also be used in Spotify, instead of the red featured image.

    Is there a way to do that? If not, is it something you intend to implement sooner or later ?

    Hi there,

    We have a plugin update for this that will be coming out later this week. This will carry through the Episode Image into the RSS feed, whereas now its only designed to display in the player on the site. v2.6.2 should have this image coming through into the feed, which is what will show in Spotify.

    Hi there, we just released v2.6.2 which brings that episode-specific image into your RSS feed. Please let us know how that’s looking for you after you’ve updated to the latest version, and if we can do anything else to help.

    Hello, thanks for the update!

    I’ve installed the plugin update and checked the RSS feed. The good news is the episode images are the ones getting pulled in the feed. However, it seems the feed is invalid. I get this error (link):

    Sorry
    This feed does not validate.
    line 255, column 2: Undefined item element: image (10 occurrences) [help]

    For some context, here are lines 255-258 of the feed:

    I currently have 10 episodes, so I would assume the error repeats 10 times for each episode. Edit: have confirmed by removing an episode image for an episode, number of errors fell back to 9. Any idea what might be causing this ?

    Hi there. We don’t typically like to use the W3.org validator because it’s not build specifically for podcast feeds. Instead we look at https://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=https://www.osersenparler.ca/feed/podcast – and looking there the only issue i see is that the cover image that you’re using is a bit too large. We suggest using a file size of <1MB for your cover image. Other than that it looks ok from what i can see.
