Support » Plugin: Email Before Download » Epic Failure

  • I have installed the three components required to make Email Before Download work. My server and all the plugins are updated to the current version. When I configure Email Before Download as per the installation instructions it will not bring up the contact form.

    The instructions say to use a shortcode that looks like the following;
    [email-download download_id=”1″ contact_form_id=”309″]

    When I look in my download “file manager” is says the id is [wpdm_file id=1]. If I use it as the id like:
    [email-download wpdm_file id=”1″ contact_form_id=”309″] the contact form displays but when you fill out the contact form and press submit the little circle of chasing arrows displays as if its working but the page just hangs at that point. Here is an example of that:

    Below is the links to the working parts as mentioned in the post about speeding up the support process.

    Here is the url to the working contact form:

    Here is the url of the download working correctly

    Here is the url of the email-download failing

    Thanks in advance for your help,

    Hi Tony,
    It looks like you have installed the wrong plugin. You have to install Worpress Download Monitor, not Worpress Download Manager.
    Thanks for the interest to our plugin.

    Wow! It’s amazing you guys let someone as dumb as me use your software lol!

    My marketing department set all this software up and brought it to me when they couldn’t get it to work. I feel like such an idiot because I looked over each of the 4 lines of instructions at least 100 times and missed the difference between “monitor” and “manager”. Maybe I should have paid better attention.

    Thank you so much for your help… it works great now.

    You aren’t the first one. Even we have missed when people install the wrong plugin and scratch our heads until we realize it. Glad it’s working for you now!
