EOL Update?

    Hello!

    Wondering if there is an official update about ongoing support for Classic Editor. This post from November 2018 has some old and somewhat contradictory info in it:

    Classic Editor Plugin Support Window

    The Classic Editor plugin will be officially supported until December 31, 2021.

    … indicating that it will hit EOL Jan 1 2022. But then it also says…

    In 2021 we will evaluate continuing maintenance of the plugin, based on usage. We expect continued maintenance to be fairly trivial.

    It’s 2021 now and inquiring minds would like to know: If continued maintenance is fairly trivial, can we expect it beyond Jan 1 2022?

    Very reasonable question, I’d like to know too.

    The usage of this plugin is quite massive, it’s the 3rd most used plugin in the repo! Unfortunatelly we are unable to see the real number of the active installs, as the counter stops at 5M. The other noticeable fact is, that the number of the installs is still growing – at a decent, but continuous rate.
