Sounds like you’re trying to show the entire entry for a post when you’re viewing the “feed” of posts on the main page?
If so, this is actually a setting in your dashboard (Settings -> Reading)
alternatively, go to http://[your site url]/wp-admin/options-reading.php
At that page pick Full Text instead of Summary in the “For each article, display” option.
That should show the entire text of a post on the main page of the site.

You should set featured images for your posts to make them visible above each and every post in front page.
