Support » Plugin: Easy Photo Album » Enhancement: Caption versus Description

  • 1.)
I was wondering if a new column could be added on the “Edit Photo Album” page to allow for description text. The way Captions are currently displayed with hyperlink formatting on the live album page is off-putting. However, the use of the text when clicked on is useful.

So, now looking at the code, if perhaps “Caption” field is left in the anchor title and the new “Description” field is used in the span tags. And then apply a class for blank font in the anchor tag.

    2.)
A Gallery-layer option could be created to display an excerpt or the full Description underneath the photo. With the option enabled, the gallery would display the pictures with a heading-style caption below it, followed by an excerpt of the description underneath it (all those being optional anyway).

Again looking at the code, after the anchor tags and before the end of the div, the option would insert a class-less span with the “Description” text within.

Anyone else have opinions on this?

I would totally be open to maybe creating a few hooks and filters for this. This way any other developer could maybe add new columns to the edit screen:

    Edit Screen

So you could create a new column with a filter, and then display it with a hook on the front-end.
