Endometrial Cancer Information Site – Semi-new theme

  • Endometrial Cancer Information: http://www.endometrialcancer.org

This is based on a modified version of the TannaghColors theme by TechGnome.

The site is pretty much finished though I am updating it all the time. However, I am building new sites based on this site, some based on this same theme, so any problems you manage to flag will be quite timely.

I don’t want to give away any concerns I might have so as not to influence your opinions.

  • I forgot one cool thing I’m quite proud of with this site and the others like it: integration with PhPList to create an automatic newsletter that gets built every time the site adds an article (it’s based off the RSS feed). For a lot of people who aren’t blogheads or for whom RSS just isn’t convenient for some reason, this is a much easier method of content syndication (no, I couldn’t think of a way of educating visitors about feeds; you’re lucky to hold their attention for more than 8 seconds and I want to spend that talking about the cause).

Test it out! There’s easy unsubscribe 🙂

Anyone think there would be any interest in releasing this as a new theme and/or pseudo-plugin (for the newsletter part)?

I think there would definitely be an interest for the PHPList + WP integration, exactly for the same reason you went for it.
So, it would be great if you can share it!

    Thank you, Moshu.

It’s really more of a tile than a plugin–basically, it was a matter of taking the phplist signup form and fitting the essential parts into a template and then putting in the required wordpress tags. Could I still submit that as a plugin?

There are already some email notification plugins for wordpress, but none of them are as fully featured as phplist, and their messages may get bounced more often.
