I am trying to insert my Adsense code on my header pages. I’ve done this with this plug in on other sites.

For one of my sites, the Enable insertion code button for inserting code in the <header><header> only appears on my screen as a vertical bar. I can hover over the bar and get the info box, but clicking on the bar does nothing. In my other sites it is displayed as a button.

I’ve uninstalled the plug in and re-installed, but get the same result.

Right now I can’t enable the code because this button is not working.

This indicates a conflict with your theme or some other plugin.

It is known that the optimizePressPlugin can causes such issues.
This is because it’s CSS file overrides styles of Ad Inserter and consequently hides buttons:
    /wp-content/plugins/optimizePressPlugin/lib/css/assets.min.css

There is no reason to load plugin CSS files on the settings pages of other plugins.
This is a very bad practice.
In such case some other plugin overrides styles of Ad Inserter (on the settings page of Ad Inserter!) and consequently hides buttons.

    Please check.

Thanks. I was suspecting a plugin conflict, but wasn’t sure. I have Optimizepress on other websites with Ad Inserter, so I think it might be a different plugin.

Is there any custom CSS I could add to resolve the conflict?

I already tried but they use !important CSS directive so it would be hard to override their CSS code.

I would suggest to contact optimizePressPlugin authors to fix the problem.

Ask them to not load their CSS files on the settings pages of other plugins, e.g.
    /wp-content/plugins/optimizePressPlugin/lib/css/assets.min.css
