The first thing we would need to ask is, did you go through the documented process to enable Google Pay? Are you sure you have the payment method activated on your PayPal account. You can find that by logging into your PayPal account, going to “Account Settings” –> Payment methods and here activating the Google Pay option. If it is already activated, it should say “Google Pay is active.”.
Please have a look at the documentation and the settings in your account and let me know if that helped or if you require additional support.

Hello,
I have rechecked and google pay is active in my paypal account.
When I select Enable Google Pay in the plugin settings connection, a new paypal tab opens with the message Thanks! You’re all set.
But in the tab Standard Payments, the Google Pay Button remains grey and ‘unclickable’

Unfortunately, I do not have any fix available for this, since we did not encounter this before. Did this start after any certain update, or did this feature behave like this from the start? It could be related to the product type or possibly other functions (like vaulting) that could affect Alternative Payment Methods, but we would have to have a look at your site for confirming this.
It might be good to look into your system report and logs, to see if there is any indicator there for us to understand why this is happening. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk.
