# Empty read more link

 * On my fresh install of WP 1.5 I do get empty read more link (not showing up).
   In the code there is a tag with id more-2 but no href and link text. Please help.
   
   I use it as <?php the_content(‘Read on…’, ‘1’); ?>
 * Why don’t I get the link???

 * I believe all you need to do to get it to show up is:
 * `<?php the_content('Read on...'); ?>`
 * Nothing else.

 * I found the problem. When I have in my blog Options > Reading options > Show 
   at most 1, **read more isn’t working**.
    But when I change it to 2 or more, **
   read more link is working OK**.
 * How can I show only one post on my index page with working read more links???
 * Please be patiente with me because I moved from MT to WP!

 * You’ve run into a bug that was fixed in more recent versions of WordPress. Upgrading
   will solve it.
