    Hello!

I am experiencing problems with the NGG Smart Image Search result page (https://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images/). There are no images beeing shown as a result, the page is empty no matter what!

I have tried these shortcodes on the resultpage:

    [hr_SIS_display_images display=“ngg_single_image“]

    [hr_SIS_display_imagee]

But none of these are showing any results.

I have a NextGEN album with biking images with these tag/deskriptions:

Cykla, Mtb, Biking, Eastcoast, Sweden, Sunset

But none of these search terms shows a result on the resultpage.

Any clue of what I am doing wrong, Really looking forward getting som ideas to this – thanks!

    Hi Fredrik,

the display shortcode can only show results, if you define a search via searchbox shortcode or widget and address the result to your quoted page.

You should provide a link to your page with the corresponding searchbox to check your search definition.

For testing purposes you could also just include the [hr_SIS_nextgen_searchbox] shortcode on your result page ahead of your display shortcode. Then you can enter your search and display the result list on the same page.

Hello Harald, and many thanks for a quick replay!

I still don’t get any results from the search (https://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images/). It is just an empty space, even though I am searching for something I know I have uploaded in a Nextgen gallery (for examples: mtb).

I am now using the result page directly from the plugin (Search Images in NextGEN Galleries) and I have also added the shortcode [hr_SIS_nextgen_searchbox].

But even so, as I search, nothing happens on the page.

I must be doing something wrong, but can’t figure out what! Hoping to hear from you again.

Please provide a link to the page where you enter your searchstring.
That is the page, where you should see the searchbox.

Again, for testing purposes, just also enter the shortcode [hr_SIS_nextgen_searchbox] on your quoted page above ((https://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images/). You did not do it until now, otherwise you would see the searchbox on that page.

    Hello Harald,

ah, sorry about that. Had a “soon online” enabled. Now it is gone and it is possible to access the page:

    https://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images/

I have posted the shortcode on this page, but not possible to get a result of the search.

Thank you for taking a look!

    Hi Fredrik,

it seems that your https configuration is not as it should be.
You have to set your homepage siteurl and home address correctly.
These are the first to entries in the options table of the wordpress database.
You defined your values with the http prefix, but it must be the https prefix as you use ssl for your website.

My plugin uses your siteurl from that table to address the result page, i.e. it uses the url “http://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images”. But it should use the url “https://schenholm.se/search-ngg-images”. Your webserver redirects the http request to the https address. But that redirection looses the generated search result list (which is passed as a parameter). So you will never see a result, unless you correct your first two entries in the option table.

I will for sure do. 6 out of 5 stars 🙂

I actually do have one last question. It has to do with multible word search.

Let’s say I have upload 3 images in Nextgen. I tag image 1 with the words: Tree, Ocean. I tag the second with: Tree, sky. I tag the third with: Tree, River.

If I put in the words: Tree, River on the search page – I get all images but I actually want a more specific search with images only tagged with “Tree” and “River”.

    Is my question understanable?

    Hi Fredrik,
the plugin provides an extensive functionality for searching images. You find more information on my webpage r-fotos.de.

Your plugin will use the basic search mode by default. Here all search terms are combined with a logical OR: ‘tree river’ will search for images having a tree OR river reference. This is the normal way searches will work (e.g. google search). If you want it differently, you have to search for ‘tree & river’. This will find all images satisfying both conditions (logical AND).

The plugin implements quite complex searches, but that is more for experts or webmasters. They can provide static searches, which generate results far beyond standard selection means of the NextGEN gallery software.

    Best regards
    Harald
