I went through the convoluted Facebook Developers process to get an Instagram Access Token. I couldn’t use the “Login and get my Access Token” process because it died with an auth error on my dev web site, possibly because it’s firewalled. So I did it manually.

I got the Instagram Access Token and see the “Your access token is working! Generate your shortcode on the Settings Page”. I got the short code and added it to Unyson’s Raw Code element. But on display I see nothing. The DIV is empty.

I enabled WordPress’ debug and see this:

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$data in /usr/local/webdocs/devel/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feeds/instagram/class-fts-instagram-feed.php on line 603

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/local/webdocs/devel/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feeds/instagram/class-fts-instagram-feed.php on line 603

Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /usr/local/webdocs/devel/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feeds/instagram/class-fts-instagram-feed.php on line 712

Notice: Trying to get property 'username' of non-object in /usr/local/webdocs/devel/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feeds/instagram/class-fts-instagram-feed.php on line 712

The theme is an old and craggy legacy, Philanthropy, and the page builder likewise (Unyson).

I should add that I got the Twitter feed to work using the “Login an get my Access Token” button.

    Hi @walkthedog,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Make sure you are running the latest version of the Feed Them Social free plugin (currently 2.9.4).

Also, make sure that you are not running any Facebook blocking extensions in your browser (like FB Container in Firefox for example).

To use our Feed them Social plugin to display an Instagram account, you must have login credentials for any Instagram account you wish to display.

To use the IG Basic feed, the Instagram account must be a public account (private accounts will not display). It can be an IG personal or business account. Login credentials are needed.

To use the IG Business feed, the Instagram account must be an IG Business account and linked to a FB Business Page (IG login credentials and admin privileges for the FB Business Page are required).

Whatever WordPress Page you are managing, and if you wish to display any instagram account, you will need to have the login credentials for that IG account in order to display it.

    1) Open your WordPress site and in your WordPress dashboard go to Feed Them > Instagram Options

    2) Open another browser tab and open Instagram.

    3) Log out of whatever IG account you are in.

    4) Log into the Instagram account you wish to display.

    5) Back in WordPress, in Feed Them > Instagram Options, click the banner/button to gain an IG token. The prompts will take you though that IG account, provided you are properly logged into that account in the other browser tab.

    6) Once returned to WordPress, scroll to the bottom and click the green ‘Save All Changes’ button

    7) Go to Feed them > Settings to generate a new shortcode

    8) Then apply that new shortcode to your WP page. After you update/publish, you may need to clear the FTS cache so the changes can take effect.

If you are still having an issue after completing the above steps, then it is possible that another plugin or theme may be interfering.

Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating them, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.

If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.

Lastly, if all of the above has not resolved the issue, please email us your most recent shortcode for us to test. email to support@ slickremix.com
