I installed the plugin and tested it in my own website. I get the email but there is no link in the mail, it is blank.
It also says it from WordPress and has no subject.
    What do I do wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I came across this plugin also and was impressed with the offered features and layout. I was then disappointed. After installing, I encountered the exact same problem reported above. Does something need to be created on the backend that is failing during the plugin installation?!?

There is absolutely no reason for a blank message to be sent. I experimented with options and tried to debug to no avail. Even reviewed the source code of the sent email to see if a link was buried within. Nope. Moved on to another solution/plugin. *sorry, time is money*

If the developer addresses this issue, I might revisit the issue and try implementing again.

You can set the “from name”, subject and email message on the following options page: admin-menu->downloads->messages. After installation, these are empty by default. For the email message you can use placeholders like {download_link}.

Since the email is sent, it seems that no errors occur.

Please let us know if it is resolved.

(Since version 1.9, a standard email message is used when it is left empty.)

That did fix it for me! Thank you!

It was unclear from the UI, that the message menu containing the “from name”, subject, AND body must be filled out. I spotted the first two, but completely missed the email message body portion. :-\

Since you are leaving those fields blank, I have to guess you had a reason. In the downloads submenu you insert example text. It just seemed natural to do so elsewhere as well, but did not see any. Hence the confusion. If you leave the messages area blank, can you include more detailed instructions in your Installation section on your plugin page? It would go a long ways to curtailing mistakes like mine, which in retrospect is boneheaded on my part. 🙂

Aside from my little mishap, the plugin works like a champ!

You are welcome! Nice that it works and thanks for letting us know.

We will update the installation instructions to provide more clarity about this.
