Empty Alt text not saved

Hi,
I’m using the latest version of Nextgen Gallery (2.0.66.37). If I try to set an empty alternative text for one or more images, the alternative text is restored to the default value (default appears to be the filename). I’m only able to change it but not to an empty value.
(I encounter the error here:/wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&mode=edit&gid=1&paged=1)

@cardy_web – If you are trying to produce displays that do not have the standard alt tag for the images you will need to create a custom template that does not include them.

That’s an all or nothing approach. What I want is hide alt attribute only for some images (some images are not meaningful or they don’t need a description)

I was able to do it in the past without any workaround. I didn’t undesrtand the reason I’m forced to fill those attributes I’m not gonna use.

@cardy_web – right now the plugin does automatically add alt data for each image, which is the filename by default. We may make this an adjustable option in the future, and I do apologize for any inconvenience.

I am using version 2.1.

But still if I leave alt as empty and save, image file name is automatically added to alt field and saved. I was trying to keep empty alt tag for some images.
