When I try to add an emoji to the title of a new newsletter and then hit ‘save’ I get the following error: ‘Database error see the log files (log files path can be found on Newsletter diagnostic panel)’

When I look into the logs I only see the following:

    29-01-2019 08:31:09 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 –
    29-01-2019 08:31:09 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 – SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM lh_newsletter_emails
    29-01-2019 08:32:06 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 –
    29-01-2019 08:32:06 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 – SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM lh_newsletter_emails
    29-01-2019 08:34:18 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 –
    29-01-2019 08:34:18 – FATAL – m: 56,8 MB, u: 1 – SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM lh_newsletter_emails

Any suggestions where the issue can come from?

Hi, this is a database encoding support problem. You database should support utf8mb4 encoding AND, if supported, the WP database should be updated to that encoding (it could be in the old simple utf8 encoding).

We should re-add our internal encoding conversion since WP has this procedure but it does not run it on every update.

I’ll check deeper this thing next week.

    Stefano.
