Embeding my Amazon store into a page

Hi,

I am very new to this, so please be patient with me,

I have just created an Amazon affiliate account and trying to promote some of their products on my site and they have asked me to do the following:
And I’m having great difficulty doing the following! please help??

1-“Create a new page or select the existing page on your site into which you would like to embed your aStore”.
2-“Select Embed your aStore using an inline frame in the above Get Link form”.
3-“Click the Highlight HTML button and copy the selected code.
4-Then paste the code into the HTML of the page you selected in step 2″.
5-“Add a “Store” link to your site’s main navigation that links to the page containing your aStore”.

What part are you having a problem with?

1. http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages
2. On Amazons site
3. Highlight and copy (ctrl c)
4. Back to WordPress and the Page and paste (ctrl v)
5. Go to your dashboard and include that page on a menu.

I have the link and I have created the page but where exactly do I paste the link on the page?

You add a “Store” link to your site’s main navigation by going to dashboard, appearance, menus and adding the Page you created to your navigation menu. No link goes on the Page you created.

I have the same issue as above. But i am not understanding the answer, which is:

what do i do once i go to dashboard, appearance, menus? where do i insert the HTML from aStore? please speak in layman’s terms. lol

Normally I would ask you to start a new thread but the directions I wrote above are very confusing and really not correct.

Open dashboard/appearance/menus/edit menus. On “Links” click the down arrow and a box will open. Paste the url for your store (should be like http://astore.amazon.com/probablyyourwebsite-some number).

In the link text box add what you want to call the store on your menu. Click add to menu. It will show up in the Menu Structure and you can drag it to adjust where it shows up in the menu.

2 steps:
Create page with A store code
Add menu link
The html code you get from Amazon gets entered in the text section of the page editor, not the menu. You can then add a link to that page (not Amazon’s) in your site’s menu as described above (except select the page you have the a store code on).

You can add a url under menus/links without adding a page. I forget when this feature was added but it wasn’t too long ago.

Right, but I think what they’re looking for is to embed the amazon provided A-store code in a WP page and then link to that from the menu.

Oh. Then your way is the way to do that. I built the store on Amazon and just linked to that but using a page would provide a more consistent look.
Hmmm. Maybe I will change mine.

When I add the code from Amazone astore in the text area of my page, I get only a gray block with nothing inside… No pics or any text… Is there something wrong with the code..?

Not being able to see the code you’re using it’s hard to say.
