    Hi all,

I tried to embed YouTube videos in the WYSIWYG widget, but it doesn't work. It only renders the url.

I entered the url in different ways:

    • paste the url in the editor mode
    • paste the url in the editor mode using [youtube=]
    • paste the url in text mode

How can I get this to work?

The site I need help with, is http://www.akkoordmagazine.nl, left bar, bottom (now a call to action with a url linking to YouTube, I deleted the url in the widget because I got no result.)

    Thank you in advance!

    Hoi. :-)

I'll do some testing regarding the regular WP YouTube embeds somewhere next week. Have an idea what's causing this but can't be sure.

For now, you can copy-paste the HTML embed code into the HTML editor (upper right corner of the editor). That should work just fine.

    Good luck!

Okee, dank je! Ik ga 't proberen. En ehm... bedoel je dan de url of de embedcode met iframe in vishaken?

Moet ik dan ook de afmetingen nog aanpassen of doet de widget dat zelf?

The embed code. You could paste the YouTube URL in a regular post, save it and copy the HTML output from the source. Or just copy it from the YouTube video.

I'm not sure about specifying dimensions as this is handled within your theme.

(We mogen geen NL praten op de WP.org support forums, vandaar even zo)

O, funny, I didn't know English is required... Anayway: I found out that the widget doesn't resize the videos automatically in WP 2011.

I used the iframe code now, that's the one with the easiest possibilities for resizing.

    Thanks for your quick answers!
