Support » Fixing WordPress » Embedding flash object with required Javascript in a page?

  • Resolved ahobday

I have a theme set up which shows a given page as a centrepiece.

We have had someone else develop a Flash animation to embed in this centrepiece. Taking a look at the sample HTML they provided, it requires an included Javascript library.

Essentially, I need to know how to embed the Flash animation on a WordPress page and include the required Javascript library, since that sort of thing usually goes in the header area, and I’m not sure on the most suitable approach.

If I’ve left out any information that’s necessary to answer my question, I’d be happy to provide. I very rarely work with Flash.

You’ll need to utilize wp_enqueue_script and wp_register_script to do this properly… use these functions to add the required javascript on the appropriate page, and use a typical embed feature on the page you want to show the flash.

Scroll down to the resources section for more detailed info (after you read the document, of course)…

Thank you! With that page and the related articles I managed to figure it out and get the Flash embedded.

    anytime… glad it worked out!
