• Well, the latest “upgrade” in WordPress is playing hell with us, because now if anyone contributes a post that dares to have an embedded tweet, the post is absolutely impossible to open (e.g. Edit).

We’ve resorted to asking contributors to putting an IMAGE of the tweet instead, which is pretty sad, but what are ya gonna do. I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered this; otherwise, I suppose we’ll just have to wait for WordPress to fix this bug.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Forgive me, but this seems insane. We have 42 active plugins, and this problem JUST started when the “upgrade” took place. No one else has reported trouble?

No, and I just tested myself and have no issue with this under WordPress 5.8: https://d.pr/i/rZs2AQ

Also, maybe don’t call the volunteer trying to help you “insane” right off the bat, ok?
