Support » Plugins » Embedded audio to play from ip address stream for community radio site?

  • hi folks, love wordpress but am having a very hard time doing something that should be simple.

i am doing the site for a community radio station:

we have a live stream. if in itunes or winamp or wmp you choose ‘open stream’ and enter this ur:

you will get our live stream.

i would like to embed an audio player on our homepage. however, none of the plugin/players/swf flash solutions i am looking at seem to want to play from this address, they seem to prefer .mu and .mp3 addresses.

can anyone help out here? do i need javascript to launch available media players?

    thanks for help!

  • I’d love an answer to this, too. I do our community radio station’s website with WordPress, and we have some guys setting up streaming… but I need to be able to get it on the website. I’m Googling for it, but I’m not finding much. But from what they tell me, it sounds very similar to what WillH is asking…

    Look at this thread.

I ve posted a code for embedding a media player in the sidebar which should work for shoutcast and there s also this plugin but (as i remember) needs some mods to work.

    Anyway try it…

You may also wanna try this plugin but its still in demo. It embeds a media player in your sidebar but i haven’t test it with all browsers.
Activate and configure the widget, then try to listen from your sidebar.

Let me know if you try it.

I finally made shout stream plugin which embeds a mini Media Player at your sidebar to connect to a stream (shoutcast is tested) along with basic stats. Media player is readable from all major browsers. It has also a link for a popup window so your readers could surf at your blog without stopping hearing the stream.

    Plugin’s page is located here.

I would appreciate any feedback on this.
