I search and couldn’t find an existing plugin that could embed only part of an external page. I know that you could use iframe to get a whole page but that’s not what I’m looking for.
We have basketball league schedules on one site and we’d like to embed just the table of the schedule on our wordpress site. The schedule is on an externally hosted site and the wordpress site is host on our servers.
Does this seem possible through a plugin or other means? I’m not at all familiar with curl and do not have any experience creating plugins. Seems like if it’s being does on another CMS, it should be doable on WordPress. Thanks for looking!
Ideally I would like to do something like is described in these links maybe using curl or
Wrap an external page by the use of the PHP Curl libraries.
This Curl module almost works like a wrapper page. Instead of loading a full external page you can only show a selection with Curl. For example if you want to copy (with permission) the event agenda of your sports club which is on the homepage you can show the agenda and not all the text around it. Just specify the page where you want your get your information from. Look in the html file where the part starts that you need. Fill this in for the start and end. Voila (Frech for wow that is easy), the snippit will appear on your WebsiteBaker page.
Wrap external HTML pages (or parts of it) without using iframes.
Ah, I was searching for the wrong terms. I need a scraper!
