Until a month ago my timeline express plugin was working on my site with image slideshows inside announcements. Now when I am trying to embed a slideshow inside an announcement, after saving, the announcement shows no slideshows on timeline. This was working as I said a couple of weeks ago.
No type of embed is working now.
Though if I acces read more, and run individual announcement, I can see the slideshow. But I need my timeline express to work as usual like it worked few weeks ago.

Timeline express now messed up my site.

    Help me please.

    Thank you.

    Hi Mihai,

Embeds and HTML inside of the announcement excerpts no longer work – which was outlined in both our change log and the documentation.

I would recommend that you read through our documentation, and make the necessary changes if this is something that you ultimately need.

Here is the documentation on enabling HTML excerpts for your announcements:

    https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/documentation/enable-html-excerpts/

If you need any assistance beyond that, my recommendation would be to purchase the pro version or an add-on, and reach out to use either via our site or via the contact form within the plugin itself – on the license page.

    Thanks!
    Evan

    Hy Evan,

Thank you for your answer. I followed all the steps in the documentation. As you can see on my website. http://www.robac.ro/ro/istoric/
But still no change. The only noticed change was the Announcement custom excerpt. I have to say before the update the timeline plugin worked perfectly.
Now you have to understand I use your plugin on a factory website. So it’s important to keep it’s functionality.
I request from you the previous outdated version, with the posibility of blocked update feature.
As you said the slideshow embed for me is absolutely necesary. Please bring the old version’s functionality back.

    Mihai.

    Hi,

You can download any previous updates from here in the repository. Blocking future updates is not a possibility – as that completely defeats the purpose of the WordPress repository, not to mention – give it 3-5 months and the plugin will most likely have a bug that needs to be patched. Downloading and installing old, outdated versions, is done at your own risk. There is a reason we have been moving forward with this new version – security, stability, extensible etc.

Feel free to download an older version, they are here in the repository for that reason.

Unfortunately, at this point – you are not providing me with enough information to help resolve the issue. You seem to be the only user that is facing such issues – which leads me to believe that it is your theme or another plugin that you have installed.

I will be closing out this issue now. If you need support immediately, please consider purchasing the pro version – and reach out to us via email, and we will personally take a look so there isn’t all of this back and forth. Unfortunately, it is not sustainable for me to try and hunt down each and every bug that pops up. You can try switching themes, and deactivating plugins to try and hunt down the problem. While I do my best to assist, I can’t do much without the proper information.

Edit: After looking at your site, each slider is initialized via javascript. Clearly, something is conflicting with the slider and our plugin. You’ll most likely need to properly initialize the slider AFTER the timeline is initialized. MY recommendation would be to pass that information along to your web developer. They should understand what I am referring to, and it shouldn’t be too hard of a fix.

    Thank you,
    Evan
