You should see the actual image if you Preview your post. Or Publish it. When you’re composing your post, you’ll just see the URL.

Are you still seeing the URL when you preview/publish?

Yes – I am still only seeing the URL in the post even after publishing it.

I’ve tried around a dozen times over the last few days (thinking there may have been a problem with the server). I’ve tried using the getty plug in and the media one and also I’ve tried on a windows pc and an apple ipad.

I’m using the latest update of wordpress with the Iconic One theme (the developers of the theme have already told me that I should have no issue with embedding with their theme – even their free one).

Would appreciate any further help you could give me.

Sorry – forgot to mention. I get the same issue even when creating and publishing a new post

Could be a compatibility issue with version WP 4.4.1. We’re checking it out.

    Appreciate your efforts

We’ve checked and do not see any issues with versioning.

I can say, though, that the URL for the embedded image needs to be on it’s own line in your post. That’s the only way for the URL to be converted into the image.

Is it legal and free to use embedded images from the plugin on a site?
    Do we need a licence?

Still having trouble, continue getting a message ‘has failed to embed’. Have tried all that you have suggested but no luck.
