# Embed codes no longer work

 * [embed][/embed] short codes no longer work.
 * YouTube is also unable to embed properly unless the shortcode option in Jetpack
   is activated.
 * I’m not sure what has changed or what’s conflicting because old posts with the
   embed shortcodes show up fine. Any new post I try to make with the embed shortcodes
   will not work. Even without the shortcode, they will just show the pasted URL.
   Only having a problem with YouTube too.

 * The special YouTube embed shortcode is part of Jetpack’s provided shortcodes,
   so that makes perfect sense.

   it failed?
