• Hi all,

How can you embed a Live Website into a page/post from my WordPress site with a particular width and height?

I am building the Web for my Wedding and I want to show on one of the pages “Pictures taken by guests” the content from the Website “Weddingpartyapp” (to let guests upload and share pics on that site).

Until now I managed to show the height I want, but the width is stuck with the below code in the current width of the post itself. I have also downloaded the plugin WP Canvas – Shortcodes, but it does not work on the task.
    <iframe src=”https://www.weddingpartyapp.com/e/guap0Dv&#8221; width=”1900″ height=”1020″ frameborder=”1″>

So I believe that if I made the post area wider, the width of the live website could improve proportionally. However, I know that Google maps width are independent from the post width, so I would be interested in knowing those two points:

    1) how can I embed a website with the height and width I want? In my case, I believe it would be 1040px width and unlimited height -as guests will upload pics and the original website has scrolling down

    2) how can I modify the width of post (not in the homepage though) in case I want for other purposes?

P.S.: The sidebar is hidden on my theme with a code I read somewhere on the net – probably, the first thing is to take it away to make the post area wider. But in this case, widgets like the flags of mqtranslate plugin have any risk of disappearing?

P.S.2: I tried what this Website says to do point 1 and it did not work for me. http://www.mulinblog.com/how-to-embed-web-page-in-a-wordpress-blog-post/

I know it is 3 questions in 1 and I appreciate your input in this mini challenge I created for myself 🙂

    WP: 3.9.
    Theme: Match

    Thanks!

  • Rather than embedding another website into your page, which will likely break any sort of responsiveness, one option might be to assign an Instagram (or another service) hashtag for the event and then feed that into a WordPress page, post, or sidebar. Then your guests don’t need to download a specific app.

Could this be an option for you?

    Hi Emily,

Thanks for your answer and your idea. Actually, I have followed your good tip of advice. Still, with instagram, I see that the width of the post area is limiting a nice display. I uploaded 4 pictures and I would still like to be able to play with the width of that post area to have it nice. Can you please advice?

    Thanks a lot!

    Edu,

There are lots of plugins with this functionality, so I think it’s just a question of looking into them and their options and finding one that fits your needs.

    Good luck!

    Emily,

thanks! I checked that previously and I found WP Canvas which doen´t do the trick. Do you have any other I could use?

    Thx
