Hey, WordPress users. For my website, rapforthemoment.com, I am having an issue with any contact form I plugin to use. For instance, I am currently using the Contact Form 7 and it was working perfectly a few weeks ago. Until recently I figured out that no matter what real email I test it out with, I do not receive the email. ONLY when I use my very own email that is registered with the site will I get an email.

How can I fix this? Clearly, I want it so that users can input their very own email so that I may contact them further regarding the matter they come to me with.

    Thank you in advance!

    – Jeff

  • yeah, I tested another submission on my form and still not receiving. Any other ideas ? Thanks again for taking time to help out.

Can you post the info shown in Postman -> Diagnostic Data.

@unitecoop, I tested out your contact form at http://www.renewcoop.ca/contact-us/

I couldn’t help but notice that mine was the only e-mail address in the TO:

if you don’t add your email address in the TO: as well, how are you going to get a copy of the email? Are you using CF7’s second form to send a copy to yourself?

Aside from that, your configuration is near perfect – just one small thing, Gmail said:

    Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=none (google.com: sterling@renewcoop.ca does not designate permitted sender hosts) smtp.mail=sterling@renewcoop.ca

.. you might want to contact varialhosting.com about adding an SPF record to your domain, renewcoop.ca

Thanks a lot!! Seems like it’s working now.

I am not sure if the issue(s) described above is the same one I am experiencing. I receive emails from subscribers, via Contact Form 7. However, there is never anything in the body of the emails.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Tom

hi @tompotterphotography, no it doesn’t. best start your own post for that issue.

    OK – Thanks :O)

OK my forms used to send me emails when a contact form was completed. Now it is not. I tried to use your advice and your postman plugin. The plugin fails to install.

I just need to receive emails again when forms are completed. We were using our main email address info@bizdev360.com. We never had issues now we do. all of our emails are set up through gmail business. please help.

Hello @bizdev360. Sorry you had issues with the plugin. ‘The plugin fails to install’ is very vague and could be a key issue in why you can’t send mails. Please post your error over at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/postman-smtp and I will sort you out.

Second, bizdev360.com does use Google Apps for mail, but it does not have a Google SPF record configured. Please follow Google’s instructions here : https://support.google.com/a/answer/178723?hl=en

What I’ve noticed with Google is once you start violating enough of their security rules, they add extra security requirements to your account. These extra rules are skipped once you switch to OAuth 2.0. You can read about that here : http://googleappsdeveloper.blogspot.no/2014/10/updates-on-authentication-for-gmail.html
