Forgot to mention – I have not yet set up the cron job, but I made sure to access the site, log in and browse around. In your FAQ you say that accessing the site should trigger the plugin.
Their servers seem to be down at the moment.
I noticed issues while working on an email.
I then tried to access online chat for them and got 503 error.
I cleared browser history and tried to sign in and now get 504 error
I came across your question looking for evidence of this issue being more widespread.
I even had to make TWO accounts here to reply becasue I used an email address on Dreamhost’s servers to sign up on first attempt … DOH!

So may be they are having a downtime. When the server is back, send me a screenshot of your mailing group settings. Plus did you try sending email from the troubleshooting page? What errors are you getting. For checking if cron is working or not install advanced cron control plugin and see if plugin’s cron jobs are queued.
Thanks! I’ve made some progress. I used the Troubleshooting tab on the plugin to send out a test email, and users did receive it.
For receivers, the return address on the test email was wordpress@physiciansactionnetwork.com. The group address I specified when I created the group was pan@physiciansactionnetwork.com.
The problem now is: when users respond to the test email (at either of the above email addresses), the response doesn’t seem to go to the list. Also, if I go to my Gmail and send a post to pan@physiciansactionnetwork.com, no one receives it.
I can send you a screenshot of my settings – not sure where to send it?

Send me the screenshot at: support at wpmailinggroup dot com
The troubleshooting page is available only for testing emails. If the email is going through it that means your settings are correct.
