• Could you clarify two questions regarding WordPress Multisite for me, please?

On a multisite install of WordPress where there are different users on each site, is it possible to send an email to all the users of all the sites on the network?

On a separate note, is it possible for a multisite to operate on a single sign-on? That is, membership to one site automatically (not manually) means membership to all other sites in the network?

    Thanks!

  • email: possible, yes. not built in so look for a plugin.

single sign on: this is built in my default, works just like wordpress.com. If you’re signed in there, you’re signed in on all wordpress.com sites.

Andrea_r, thank you for the response.

Regarding the second point, you’re signd on to all wordpress.com sites, but you’re not a *user* of all wordpress.com sites, no?

    This is correct.

You only become a ‘user’ of a WordPress.com site when you’re added. Otherwise, if you comment, you are a ‘subscriber’.

If you’re Super Admin or such, you’re always able to log in everywhere.
