# Email Variables

 * I am trying to create a custom confirmation email. I created my own HTML template
   with CSS and the display is fine.
 * I am able to display the event name simply by having “Event Name” present.
 * However despite all attempts, I cannot get the users name/firstname & lastname
   in my template.
 * I have tried all of the following:
    - user name
    - {user_name}
    - {{user_name}}
    - First Name / first name
    - {first_name}
 * None of the above works. Is there some documentation around how to do this and
   what variables are exposed?

   The `User Name` variable is not available in the**
   Booking Confirmation Email** sent to the user, though it is supported in the **
   Admin Confirmation Email**. The variables `(user_name)`, `(user_first_name)`,
   and `(user_last_name)` are listed under the available fields for the **Admin 
   Booking Confirmation Email** only. 
 * We have forwarded your request to add the user_name variable in the booking confirmation
   email to our planning and development team for further consideration and action.
