  • Scott,

Thank you for clarifying how WP-SpamShield works! Great job on the plugin.

    Cheers,
    MailPoet Team.

Chris, hasn’t Spam Shield worked out for you?

    Hi!

I’m still working with their support staff to block these spammers. I’d prefer to stick with MailPoet 3, rather than go back to MailPoet 2, if possible. even though, as a beta product it may not be “production ready” from the perspective of a security plugin like wp-spamshield, I much prefer version 3 over version 2. You guys have done a great job on the remake and I’ve very pleased with it. I have no issues on my other blogs that use mailpoet 3. Just this one.

    Thanks!

    Just wanted to follow up.

Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad to help.

We got the issue figured out, and now spam is being blocked properly on the Beta, as well as the stable. Just to give some feedback: It had to do with the form POST endpoint being changed to admin-post.php in the beta version (which we were not expecting). We haven’t seen that endpoint used commonly and so we weren’t checking it for POST entries. That has been fixed, and now it checks that endpoint as well. I’m actually glad this issue came up, as it gave us a chance to make an improvement that we might not have made otherwise. 🙂

If you ever need to get in touch with us regarding plugin compatibility, we have a guide for other plugin developers and you can contact us through that page.

MP + CN: Let us know if we can ever help with anything else. Have a good one!

    – Scott
